Head Start centers provide a nurturing safe environment for preschoolers. Comprehensive services include a multicultural educational program that is tailored to children's individual needs, fosters their self-esteem, and develops cognitive, language, motor, and social skills; medical and dental screenings and follow-up treatment, along with classroom lessons that emphasize a variety of preventative health practices; nutritious meals and snacks eaten in family style settings; evaluation, diagnosis, and special services, in a nurturing mainstreamed classroom environment for children with special needs; and regular field trips where children can enjoy and explore the world around them.

I could go on for hours why this school is not a good school. #1 being they do not challenge your child. My Son went here and they has him start in a special Ed class. All he did all day was color. Come home with work that was not even done. Yet they said it was not homework. So he would come home with a complete empty packet with nothing done. The things that were particularly done alot of the problems were incorrect but had a star on the top. Like the teacher did not even look at the work and correct it. Just put a star on it. The teachers are un willing to have parent teacher conferences at times that could work with parents that work a 8-5 job. If your child is struggling In any subject do not send to this school they do not offer one on one tutoring and will just put your child in a class mixed with all different grades to color all day. My son is Dyslexic when I asked them to test him for it they told me it's normal for a 7 year old to write numbers and letters backwards. I could go on and on but my experience and nmy son's experience was not at all good.
Mary Ann Binford was VERY dissapointing. Terrible school. The teachers the whole staff was completely disappointing. They left my child out of activities because they were to lazy to look for a simple signed paper I told them if your to lazy to look for it dam call me and I will go there to get the paper out of the file. Another instance that happened was they did not let her go outside because again to lazy to look for her jacket i figured if all the kids were outside there should only be her jacket in there I went in to get her at the end of the day and low and behold there was her jacket right in her cubby I told them its right here and they look at me all dumb. The teachers seem as if they don't care about the children its just a job to them I want and like a place where the teachers enjoy kids and teaching. The heights head start YDI was Excellent 5 stars the teachers are all about the kids there great. So it was such a difference when we transfered to Mary Ann Binford. Mary Ann Binford's teachers are always in a bad mood have attitudes and are just plain rude and lazy I couldn't believe it. I completely stopped taking my child because it was so bad. If you want your child to go to a good school I STRONGLY suggest that you DON'T send them here.
