Description: Y Preschool is a trusted program that has provided educational and developmental support to children and families for over 160 years. Our program combines a safe and happy educational environment with a curriculum designed to stimulate intellectual, emotional, and physical growth; all with the focus of preparing children for kindergarten and beyond.

Using the Core Knowledge Preschool Curriculum and the Creative Curriculum, Y staff teaches skills related to school-readiness as measured by the Maryland State Department of Education. As a result, children enrolled in our program perform above state averages across all academic measures!

| Findings: The center does not have an outdoor activity area. The LS was informed that the outdoor area was not approved for use in April 2019 during the Head Start Federal Review. Observed the outdoor activity area at the center that was not in good repair. The surface area had many wholes in the ground (tripping hazards) and the climber was burned. the staff are very nuturing to the young kids and seems to be invested in teaching each one of them. program is very structure, which I like; and it provides an opportunity for each child to learn and to feel love and accepted.
