About the Provider

Description: Children have a special place at Washington Street United Methodist Church, which provides opportunities for them to grow both spiritually and socially. Through stimulating and fun Sunday school classes, children's choirs and worship experiences, our children prepare for participation in services with the congregation. They discover that church is a place where they belong, too, and that it is a safe place, where they are accepted, even when they are being children.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

We have been sending our daughter to the CDC for about two years. We previously attended another facility in the area, but chose the CDC because of its affiliation with the Church, credentials/ratings, and formal curriculum. Our daughter looks forward to going to the CDC each morning, and we do not regret our decision at all. As much as I would love to take all the credit for how caring, intelligent, confident, and adventurous she has become, I know that the instructors at the CDC have played a large role in her development. We used to think that she was the instructors' favorite because of all the care and attention she received, but have since learned that nearly every parent feels the same way because the instructors really love these kids! I am surprised to hear that another reviewer had a negative experience with the director. She has been nothing but professional and helpful toward us, and caring toward our daughter. We have recommended this facility to several other parents who also have had very positive experiences.

I started off really enjoying this school. The staff was super amazing but the director is a witch. She cares nothing about the staff or the children. My child was left in the classroom by herself (yellow room) and she didnt even tell me. One of the teachers told me. Felicia Yockle is very very mean and does not care. I was very disappointed with this school because i paid so much money for my child to go here.

Hi Hermina. I also worked there while I was expecting my daughter and after she was born. I was in the yellow room and then in the red room. I remember you, you had really pretty turquoise bracelets! Hope you are well! Seeing your name made me remember a good time in my life.

I worked as an instructor in the Blue Room from 1995-97. It was one of the most endearing asssignments in my Teaching Career. The parents, the Staff and the support of the Church were especially beneficial to me. I still have pictures of many of the students and hold fond memories of that time.

I continue to be employed by the UMC Womens division
