Description: The Washington Park Citizens' Association is a non-profit organization formed in 1969 to work towards improving the Washington Park neighborhood. The Association is the governing board of the Washington Park Community Center and the Washington Park Children's Shelter.
The Washington Park Community Center, a multipurpose human service agency, offers a variety of programs and social services to the local community. Our licensed childcare programs include Infant/Toddler Daycare, Pre-School, Before & After School programs. These are year round programs, providing a nurturing and educational environment for children who need care while their parents are at work.
The Washington Park Children's Shelter is a temporary home for abused, abandoned or neglected children, ages 0 to 12, in crisis. The shelter provides a safe home-like setting where a child's physical, emotional, educational and recreational needs are met while they are in transition.
