About the Provider
Our teachers are experienced and qualified to provide academic and social skills to our students. We have high expectations for all of our students because we believe “high expectations” encourage achievement. We meet this goal by providing instructions in social/emotional, physical, language, literacy, cognitive, math, science and creative arts.
We involve parents in our early childhood program to embrace cultural and ethnic diversities. We recognize parents as the primary educator of their children and include them in volunteering in the classroom, family activities, parent meetings, and working at home with their children on our weekly family activity packets that reflect classroom assignments.
We also have other support and education programs to facilitate our parent involvement which include Adult Education, Fatherhood program, Healthy Marriage Program, Health, Nutrition, Social Services, and Mental Health services for families. We collaborate with these programs to strengthen families knowledge, and help them have positive impacts on their children’s learning experiences and contribute to their growth and development.
Walters Rd. Head Start Center will continue to maintain a collaborative relationship with each child’s family and the communities so we can accomplish the AVANCE Mission to “Unlock America’s Potential by strengthening families in at-risk communities through effective parent education and support programs”.
