Well, well. I’ve waited for this day for so long. This place is okay for a child to go to and that’s it. As far as employment goes this place is awful! This place is unprofessional. If you’re looking for a job DO NOT come here, you’ll be miserable and poor. I’ve worked at 2/3 of the Walnut Grove centers. I’ll give you the run down on the locations. #1 Bealeton. Linda is the director of the center, she’s an unprofessional train wreck, on the verge of a stroke and they still work her to a pulp. Beware of her flunky employees, she has her picks of her favorites, she’ll let them speak to you any type of way, she’ll speak to you any type of way, cusses on the job, leaves out multiple times throughout the morning to circle the block to smoke cigarettes, she’ll ask you to run on your break to McDonald’s to bring her food back (that’s if you’re lucky enough to get a break that day). She thinks it’s the cutest thing to tell stories of her husband Larry speaking to her like a dog, she’ll even put it on speaker so everyone can hear. I have 6 years of childcare experience, was an assistant director for a center for 4 years. I was employed there and treated like I had no clue as to what to do, I was treated like an off brand idiot. I took a $1.50 pay cut, and was promised two raises which I never received. Every time I asked for them it was always “I’ll talk to Jen” (the wicked owner), the last time I was told that I’m making more than some of the girls at the center I was making ($9.50) I feel bad for the ones making less. Also they pay you weekly, you get your check at the END of the day on a Friday, that’s if you work that day, if not you can’t get it til the next following work day, and you’re not allowed to have anyone to pick it up for you. There’s no type of benefits at this job, at all. Not even a promotion. Wait, I take that back. They’ll promote you to lead just to work you to death, then promise you a raise you’ll never receive after you watch the 500 videos from the 1980’s on childcare. (Their bogus trainings). You pay for your own CPR/First aid training. Also to receive your holiday pay you must work 3 weeks straight (the week before the holiday, the week during, and after) you cannot call out, or request any of the time off or you will not receive it. You’ll be lucky some days to receive a break, you’ll be forced to work 8+ hours straight some days if they’re short staffed. I’m of color and I’ve had other staff tell me they’re extremely “scared” of people of color. Im sorry, that’s unprofessional and not safe for a childcare provider to speak on a race that way especially working with kids of color, there weren’t kids there that were fully colored, they were mixed. I’d hate to see a child of color to go there. Wait, we did have two little girls of color there last year and they were treated as if they were gross because their mother was on DSS, and couldn’t afford things they needed there. NOW Walnut Grove Academy. Hmm, where do I began? This place is more ridiculous than bealeton, bealeton is just flat out GHETTO, and unprofessional. Warrenton, they think they’re so much better then anyone who isn’t their flunky a** kissers. If you’re not their flunky you’re treated like sh*t, and they allow it. Stephine is the biggest b*itch you’ll ever meet in your life. I was told by her THE DIRECTOR my friends are “hoodrats”. I’m sorry that’s so unprofessional for a so called “boss” to speak to someone, especially when I’ve never once had a conversation with her about my friends, or personal life like sorry that I don’t spend 49 hours a week at my job, and I have a life. I’m in school to be a doctor, I won’t be 32 still working that shitty job that I’ve been at for 17 years. I’m sorry that won’t be me. Now let’s begin, if you’re employed here and they say you’re going into the 4’s class room. RUN. Maryann is an infertile, miserable human. I can’t even call her a women cause idk what she is. You’ll recognize her as soon as you walk in she’s about 6ft, huge ankles, a permanent stank face, and she walks around like she can barely move. She’s 48 years old, and treats every YOUNG, new employee like crap, and Stephine just allows it, there’s never anything done unless you’re NOT one of their flunkies, then they’re on your back for everything. Maryann caused me emotional stress for 5 months, I suffer from depression, anxiety, and adhd. Her being rude, or just not knowing what you’d be walking into was emotionally stressful, and this job caused my mental health to go down. Same with Brittani, she’s in the 2’s class room you’ll recognize her she looks young from a far but she has the a flat old looking face, she also keeps a permanent stank face, and walks around with a permanent attitude, and treats all of her assistants like crap. Cierra, she’s the assistant she’s one to say little slick remarks out of her mouth then says “sorry I’m an a**hole” she’ll make you want to really want to take it there with her because she’s such a Uncle Tom to Stephine you feel bad for her. Basically if you’re a strong independent person with your own mind you won’t make it there. To the parents, if you so happen to pull your child without paying beware, Jen the owner will go to your job and attempt to get you fired. Especially if you work in a fauquier county, she knows a lot of people. This place is a horrible daycare and I’ll be glad to see it out of fauquier. I was so miserable
