About the Provider
WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL OUTSTANDING: The students, parents, and Valleyview staff contribute to an outstanding school culture and environment. The Columbus Public Schools curriculum directs instruction at Valleyview. Teachers plan together to provide effective instruction that is motivating to our students. Our curriculum is directly aligned with the State of Ohio standards. Computer access is available in each classroom and in the Library Learning Center. Students have opportunities to utilize selected software programs, as well as the Internet, to increase their opportunities for learning. Special activities for students include choir, instrumental music, safety patrol, chess club, a school-wide reading homework initiative that recognizes students who read 20 minutes every night, educational field trips, and extended learning opportunities (after-school tutoring). Regularly scheduled assemblies honor students for academic achievement, perfect attendance and special accomplishments. Artists-in-the-Schools assemblies are provided quarterly. Lunch-time club activities are offered, including newspaper club, mock-trial club, book club, drama club, and student council "Each student is highly educated, prepared for leadership and service, and empowered for success as a citizen in a global community."
