PARENT’S BEWARE - PLEASE READ!! --- Our 20-month old TODDLER walked out the front door of this school undetected and was found wandering in the STREET by another parent (Broadway is a busy 35mph arterial). He literally could have died, been kidnapped, etc. When returned (thankfully unharmed) the staff did not even realize he was gone. Here’s the worst part, and why my family has made the decision to go public. We didn’t even learn about the incident until 6 days later (thanks ONLY to a good samaritan who filed a CPS report). The school’s owner and leadership COVERED IT UP and then coached their staff not to tell us!!! My Wife and I literally were at the school a total of 6 times before learning about the incident.
CPS is currently investigating this school for neglect and child endangerment. Following, state licensure will be reviewing the case. The owner and leadership at this school clearly lack integrity and refuse to take any amount of ownership with what happened to our son. It’s been a month and to the best of our knowledge ZERO communication about the event has been made to the other parents. Our goal is to inform current and prospective parents about the facts so that they can make an informed decision about their child’s care. Absolutely horrifying, a parent’s worst nightmare.
When we pulled our son from this school (the morning after learning what happened) it had been 7 days since the incident and they STILL had not made any improvements to the safety of the school. Not even a $10 Amazon door buzzer. The deceptive element of this event begs the question; what else would they be willing to cover up to protect their own skin? They clearly prioritize protecting themselves over the safety of their students.
From one concerned parent to another, please share to help protect our kids!!
