Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more
information.) I didn't realize we were not permitted to use the exit/entrance into the garage. I also didn't realize a parked car and a riding lawnmower were considered hazardous materials. Other than those two items is all we had stored in the garage. I am aware of where my approved exit doors are located. I just didn't realize they were to be the only exit/entrance doors we were allowed to use. I interpreted the regulation to say we needed the approved doors to meet the standard not that it took away our other means of entering or exiting the childcare home. |

I have taken my children to this daycare for years. They had a recent staffing change. My hours of care have always been 6 or 615 am to 3 to 430 pm depending on the schedule I give Lisa for the week. Her hours are listed as opening at 545 am, and since we have been there we have not had an issue with time. However, over the past month she has been messaging me everyday that they have been dropped off 10 to 20 minutes late saying that the kids can not be late to drop off. I have never been late to pick them up. The pay is the same if they get the kids at 6 or 630 or whenever really. I have always had the kids with this schedule and so the fact that it is an issue now was the first red flag. Then after speaking with multiple families I was told other families were also being late to drop off and they have not been getting harassed about it. I'm not sure why Lisa thinks it is okay to discriminate against me in this way but it is her choice. Lisa then told me on Friday that the kids could no longer go to the daycare because they are always dropped off late. Then, today after speaking with someone about things and asking Lisa for a copy of our contract (which is legally required)... she told me that the kids can not come back effective immediately. It is her choice to retaliate. I'm not sure why you would not want someone to have a copy of the contract you had them sign. I have taken alot from this daycare owner in the past and have always elected to keep them their for the fact the kids had friends there. The 2 experiences that were really bad are actually documented with DCFS. My son was still a baby and another child had picked him up off the floor by his neck. I was assured that the child would be closely monitored and it would never happen again. Within 2 weeks of that event the same child had climbed into my sons pack and play he was sleeping in and attacked him. My son had bruises and scratches all over his face and neck. It was then reported to authorities and the only reason why we stayed was we came to an agreement that the child would no longer go to our daycare. I have had countless amount of issues in general with Lisa. She is far from pleasant or easy to work with and I have no doubt that that is why she can not keep staff for more then 3-6 months at a time. There has not been consistent staffing since we have been there and despite everything I have let the kids stay because they loved their friends. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone moving forward.
