Description: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City continues to be the principal youth-serving agency for children living at or near the poverty levels and attending public schools in the urban core of metropolitan Kansas City.
Unlike other youth organizations, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City are facility-based. Our five area Clubs are strategically placed in some of Kansas City's most troubled neighborhoods. Each unit is open when school is out, from 2-7 p.m., a critical time to be accessible by the young people who need us most. Membership fees are minimal and scholarships are available as needed.
Boys & Girls Clubs enhance the development of youth, ages 5-18, by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. The Clubs provide homework help, energizing sports and recreational activities, and nutritional education. Organized core programs include Healthly Lifestyles, Education & Career Development, Technology, Public Speaking & Leadeship. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow.
