The Learning Zone offers positive alternatives to children who are surrounded by negative influnces; introducing art, music and character -building programs along with academic support and study skills. We are laying the foundation for successful and productive lives.

The Learning Zone provides children between the ages of 2 and 14 with a safe haven where they can explore their potential and enhance their futures. Through creative and constructive programming, trained and dedicated Learning Zone professionals and volunteers strive to develop children and provide peace of mind to over-stretched parents by offering the stability, support and consistency every family needs to succeed.

The Salvation Army emphasizes serving children from challenging economic and societal backgrounds. When we began our Learning Zone initiative many said that it couldn't be done. Today, our Learning Zone centers serve more than 250 children and their families in Barberton and Akron.
