My daughter has been going to the Christiana site since 10/2017 at the age of 2. Let me just tell you how I was scared for this change due to me feeling more at ease with her being in a home daycare since she was 4 months. Due to her home daycare closing I was forced to look for additional care. I searched every where..and I mean every where. Let me give you a tip..pop up at a daycare around 11 am for an application and you will see the real deal! Not this center though. First what you do is look on the state of Delaware website to see if there has been any teacher/kid safety concerns for the past 5-7 years, and that was a no for all three of her centers! Yes meeting the owner Ms. Janice I did feel at first like dang she plays no games when it comes to her business and kids, but guess what..dealing with my ONLY child neither do I, so she won me over! Here it is January 2018 and I still love it!! My child is now three, picked to be tested by the state because she is learning so much, and we love all the teachers. When I read the post below it saddens me. Just because things did not go well for your situation, don't block other kids possible blessings. Parents that are sour make it bad for our children still attending to be able to do certain things. If you feel like the owner is money hungry, take your child to the next daycare that's cheap and you will find out you get what you pay for. She has bills to pay just like anyone else. If your child can not participate in things then have them sit out. Its simple as that. Lord knows I don't have it all the time, but i don't cry about it. If my child have to sit out one day then so be it. I didn't know anything about Ms. Janice when attending but guess what....what my child is planted P.S if she treats her workers so bad...why are they all still there? Just something to thing about. Sounds like a bunch of sour pusses.
I wish I could contact every parent personally and have them remove their child or children from this place. I worked at one location and let my two year old go to another location.he went for two days before I removed him, and I worked 2weeks before I quit that hell whole .. I can not work anywhere and see staff and children being treated and such a horrible manner. The director Janice Palmer seems to have a personality disorder. I had to take her to court to get my check that I worked for . She has has her grown sons working with small children, which is inappropriate to me , because their are small little girls who need to be changed or pottied. I took my son out of that place as soon as I seen a young man taking my son Rj the potty .. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy
Please do your research before looking at this daycare. Every single negative review is about how awful the owner, Janice Palmer, treats others. I have personally seen her berate her staff in front of me and the children in the middle of the classroom. Go somewhere else.
I Worked There For 6 Months As An Assistant Teacher Intern In Preschool. I Had Zero Child Care/Teaching Exp. I Got Paid Training At Minimum Wage. The Owner/Director, Mrs. Janice Palmer Was Nice To Me Until Things Occurred With Me & Lead Teacher. She Yelled At Me, Cut My Hours, Sent Me Home. Did Nothing When I Fell Down At Cinemark Theatre On A Field Trip. I Still Came To Work With Lower Back Pain. Was Terminated By Email in April 2015. Her Husband, Nate Marks Was Nicer Than Her.
This center could be top notch; if it weren't for the fact that the Owner/Operator runs it as if she is a drill sergeant. In her opinion; she is the dictator. She is determined to never admit fault. Anything that happens; is someone else's fault or misunderstanding; when in reality she is simply WRONG! She has a tendency to talk to her staff as if they are children and not staff members.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I made a HORRIBLE decision choosing The Little People Child Development Center. Was shocked how the director Janice Palmer runs the center like it a dictatorship, being disrespectful and rude at will, to staff, teachers and parents. My child reported actually being hit by 2 of the staff including the "director" and was repeatedly hit by the same children, which I finally witnessed and immediately removed my child from the school. The day I removed her there was at least 2-3 other parents there waiting on the director to show up who was late because there were more allegations of abuse from the teachers. Walking in and seeing this I picked up my daughter and left. I would never ever recommend this horrible place to anyone its torture for kids especially those who can't speak for themselves. We are currently preparing for a lawsuit. I would feel guilty if I did not share my experience.
Too many promises, none delivered. A lot of unprofessionalism and lack of INTEGRITY. If you need a daycare, keep going don t go here, they claim to care about children but that wasn t my experience. I would NEVER recommend this daycare to anyone and will let anyone know about my terrible experience with this daycare.
