Interlaken Preschool is a play-based year round preschool for 3-5 year olds in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The Interlaken Preschool aims to provide an anti-biased environment where individual learning is nurtured and encouraged. Our school is a place where children are valued for their curiosity and individual perspective; where a commitment to community and family is developed, explored and exercised through diverse programming. At The Interlaken Preschool, we believe it is important for the whole child to develop: socially, emotionally, and academically. A well-adjusted, self-confident child is eager to learn about the world in which he or she lives. To encourage this, we explore monthly themes, engaging your child in many activities, including language arts, math, science, social studies, arts and crafts, music, dance, and dramatic play. We fill the classroom environment with options for activities and experiences that support learning. This daily practice of making choices creates a foundation of understanding for children as they learn how their actions affect them, those around them, and their environment.
