About the Provider
Tender Hearts Childcare Center and Tender Hearts Group Home are an entity of Gove County Medical Center in Quinter Kansas. Any child between the ages of 6 weeks to 11 years is eligible for enrollment as long as their parent or guardian is employed by Gove County Medical Center, Bluestem Medical or Blackwood Family Dentistry. The hours of operation for the Childcare Center is 5am-6pm and the Group Home is 5am-7pm. Tender Hearts Childcare Center currently consists of a full time Director (who also acts as lead teacher for the preschool classroom), 3 full time lead teachers, a cook who specializes in healthy meals as well as childcare, and variable time aides. The Tender Hearts Group Home currently consists of the Assistant Director (who also acts as a lead teacher), 1 lead teacher, and variable time aides. Staff qualifications and and child/staff ratios always meet and often exceed local and state requirements. All staff are trained in first aide and CPR as well as complete a minimum of 10 inservice hours per year. All of the staff at Tender Hearts Childcare facilities know and understand the importance of early brain development. It is from this knowledge that daily lesson plans are implemented. Each day your child will have the opportunity to participate in the following areas of early childhood development: * Language-circle time, finger plays, letter sounds, songs, reading books. * Social- playing games together, taking turns, sharing, manners, self help skills * Cognitive-puzzles, patterning, alphabet activities, counting, color and shape recognition, cause and effect. * Large Motor- parachute play, tummy time, balance beam, toss and catch, dancing. * Small motor-lacing cards, beads, tracing, pincer grasp, cutting, and using silverware. * Sensory-shaving cream, noodles, rice, pudding, feathers, play dough and buttons. * Art-painting, glue, stickers, cutting, creating with different materials. In addition to activities listed on daily lesson plans there will also time for free play. Free play provides an opportunity for children to direct their own learning. As a Tender Hearts employee you will have the opportunity to help young child learn and grow in a way that sets up the foundation for their future. Both locations offer thorough training as well as provide inservice hours upon employment.
