About the Provider

As educators our purpose is to cultivate growth in each stage of development among our children. We understand that children develop at their own individual pace; therefore, we plan and implement activities around the needs of our children. We use the Connecticut Preschool Curriculum Framework and the Connecticut Infant/Toddler Development Guidelines to help our dedicated group of teachers plan developmentally appropriate activities that promote opportunities for exploration and self discovery. Our curriculum consists of monthly themes that allow children to develop an awareness of the world around them, as well as the skills necessary to transition from infants to toddlers to preschoolers to school-aged children. It is the primary goal of the staff at Sunshine Preschool to create a safe environment where children will find warmth, comfort, gentleness and an abundance of opportunities for movement, exploration and self-discovery. We will help each child achieve his/her fullest potential by recognizing each stage of development and creating an environment designed to nurture and support growth during each stage. We will help promote each child’s independence, self-discipline, social competence, self-awareness, enthusiasm for learning and problem-solving skills. We will assist parents during the various developmental stages of their child, while guiding them to better enrich their child’s growth and development.
