Description: It began in the early 1900's when a lady named Dr. Maria Montessori used her scientific observations of young children and their behavior to develop a method of education. She opened "A Children's House" in 1906 for the children of desperately poor families in the San Lorenzo slums of Rome. Dr. Montessori's dynamic theories included such revolutionary premises as:
-Children are to be respected as different from adults and as individuals who are different from one another.
- Children create themselves through purposeful activity.
-The most important years for learning are from birth to age six.

I thought it was great to observe the Sunshine Montessori school! It gave a great insight to how children learn best (through applicable daily life resources) and how to nurture care for others (social learning/development) at the same time. From what I observed, it was a great mix of high expectations combined with low stress procedures topped by a high structure or order through routine. Every center will have their drawbacks and some off days, but overall, they're doing things developmentally right on track! I am a near graduate of JBU EDC Advanced program and this was an enjoyable observation--
