rarely leave these reviews but I feel as a ER nurse in this community I MUST warn parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles and everyone who encounter this facility about the out right negligence of this facility. On 1/6/2021 (yes this year! Already) I received a call from the Assistant director saying "your baby (who is 13 mo old) climb a book shelf, got to the top, and fell and bashed her head before the teacher noticed she was up there. How could a 13mo old climb a whole book shelf? And where were your teachers while she was climbing a whole book shelf? You mean to tell me no one saw her? You mean to tell me a baby who has never even climb the stairs climb a book shelf? Ok, as a mother all kind of red flags were flying at this point but her father said let it go. I was upset because 1 week before that, the director called and said "your 13mo old tripped over she shoe string and bumped her mouth. I immediately went and picked her up and noticed she had a torn Frenulum. To tear your frenulum it requi extreme force, but what sent unwavering concerns more was the fact that my daughter had on velcro shoes! SHE DID NOT HAVE ON TIE UP SHOES! I told her father but he felt like I was being over protective. Until on the 7th of January 2021. Brittany called and said my daughter had been injured and its really bad and she wanted to ride in the ambulance to take her to the hospital l! I told her I was enroute and I'd be there. The lie they told me was that my child stepped on a piece of paper and fell back on the back of her head. Now I've been a trauma nurse for 18yrs you better make bull crap make sense to me if you are going to tell it to me. If my 13mo old stepped on paper and hit the back of her head why the heck is blood pouring out her mouth??????? I was pist! I didn't have time to sit and talk I needed to get my child to CHOA. Brittany the director assured me she would get the video and show me it was a accident. I got to CHOA and the doctors didn't even believe that lie they told. The ER doctors attempted to get in contact with the daycare to find out what happened and they refused to talk to her. My daughter tooth was shoved back up into her head, so violently that it cracked her permanent tooth that was not even out yet! My 1yr old have to have emergent major oral surgery to remove the baby tooth in hopes that the other permanent tooth will eventually come out so we can assess the damage to it.
At 13mo my daughter was violently abused by the adults at this daycare! And the sad part is they are taking up and covering for each other. They stood right in my face and told a bold face lie! How can a baby hit the back of her head and her front tooth get jammed up in her head? How? Make it make sense? We have retained an attorney, and will take criminal, legal, and civil action against Cadence education DBA Sunblock Academy! Please do not take your child here! They are physically abusing the children and our poor kids are too little to tell us what's going on!
Sunbrook Academy at Stockbridge is a great and educational childcare center in Henry County! My daughter started at this center in January and we love it! She has learned so much and made so many friends! Her teachers have really taken the time to keep us updated on her progress in class. They also have done a lot of really great events at center to let us get involved in our daughters education!
