I'm really pleased with this school. My child has been going there for several months and I couldn't be happier. I love the diversity, I love it being Christian based, the tuition is affordable, & I love the curriculum. My child had been going to another school in the area and all she ever would come with were pictures. I understand arts and crafts but I'm also trying to get her prepared for kindergarten. How about some writing? Springfield does writing everyday, my child is now starting to write in cursive (which I understand is not largely being teached anymore), she has homework...I'm really pleased. The staff have all been there a long time and really seem to be a family. The directors are helpful. The lead director Mrs. Moore hasn't been at Springfield long, but you can tell she's a wonderful leader who is liked by all the parents and children. I'm a first time parent and learning as I go but you can always tell the facility is clean, teachers are loving, and the students are learning A LOT. I'm very very happy with Springfield Christian Academy.
A month ago, I visited this facility and upon arrival I rang the doorbell several times and no one came to the door. I stood there a little over five or six miutes and decided, maybe this center was closed down. I googled the name and found a number in hopes of leaving a message about a possible tour and no one answered the phone. I gave my brother in law a call (who is a member of the church that is affiliated with this school) and h said they should not be closed and maybe I should try again. I came back a week later but at a different time and I wish I never followed up. A lady came to the door and seemed frustrated but I didn't want to speculate. She told me they "heard the doorbell" (I do not know who the "they" is she was referring to) but no one was available to answer. I told her I was there for a tour, if possible and she went down the hall and voices certainly carry as I heard another voice saying does she have an appointment because if she does not she will have to wait. In this moment I decided to just leave but the lady who opened the door came back and before she could say anything, I told her, I did not have an appointment and I had tried to call but no one answered. I told her if it was a bad time I will leave, she said she didn't have anything to do with that but was just delivering the message. I asked her who was in charge and she said a name so I asked to speak to that name. The young lady disappeared again and I did not see her anymore. MY CONCERN WAS THAT I, A COMPLETE STRANGER WAS LEFT TO JUST ROAM AROUND (though I did not do so). I waited for a while and the only person who walked by asked what kid was I there to pick up and I said I did not have a kid there to pick up and even that person said oh ok and kept walking. This was thee most unprofessional. Needless to say, I did not go back.
I personally serviced as Director of Springfield Christian Academy for 7 years. During my tenure as director the experience was exciting. I resigned to care for my ailing father who was suffering with lung cancer. He passed away in August of 2009. I would highly recommend family, friends or loved ones to the Academy if they want their child to receive the best Christian education.
