Cause I like being around kids helping them learn more about education in also drawing and color stuff in building stuffed out of toys blocks
I worked for MBUSI for 5 years, from 2004-2009. My son went to shining stars from 12 weeks up to 4 years old. This place was the best. I loved knowing my son was being taught and watching him grow. They even potty trained him there. Fast forward to 2018, I went back to work and needed a daycare for my now 2 year old so I never even thought of where I wanted her to go to daycare, I already knew I wanted her to go to Shining Stars. I called to see if I could bring her since I didn’t work for MBUSI anymore but still received some benefits as I was bought out from the company. Not really retired but sort of retired. They told me absolutely, bring her there. My only complaint was the price increase. I used to pay $125 until my son was potty trained, then it went down to $100. The price is now $175 a week. Needless to say I could only afford to send my daughter here for 6 months before I just couldn’t do it anymore. My daughter improved so much in her social skills in those 6 months. Mrs. Michelle and Ms. Ambrosia were the absolute best and as soon as I can afford to bring my baby girl back here, she will be going back. The director Ashley is awesome and I just wanted to take a few minutes to build these ladies up. They are trying their hardest. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this child care facility to anyone.
If I could give it no stars, I would. I have had a child at this center for over 4 years which entailed two operating companies, 5+ directors and more teachers than I could possibly count!
This center is going down the tubes! Teacher turnover is absolutely ridiculous. Some have lasted mere weeks. Many are hired without experience. The director mentioned in the previous review was definitely rude, but at least the kids weren't in danger while the center was under her direction.
Situations of neglect are repeatedly coming up now that this center has come under the operation of La Petite academy. Children left alone in rooms, teachers sleeping on the job, teachers playing on cell phones when they should be giving instruction, not enough teachers in a room, teachers not observing students who were putting themselves in danger, etc.
The staff is all very young and inexperienced. They can not answer questions unless they speak to someone up the chain in La Petite. They are playing with children instead of teaching them.
The curriculum isn't there like it used to be. Kids are learning very little and those that were previously learning are now regressing.
Problems exist in every single classroom from infants to pre-k. The leadership at this facility is doing little to nothing to correct said problems.
DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN HERE!
I love the teachers at Shining Stars, Mrs. JoAnna has been so wonderful to my son and he has learned so much! However, the director BRIDGETTE, is RUDE with an undeserved sense of power that she feels gives her the right to talk to people like dogs!! She has rude with me in the past and I have reported her with no results. She has since gotten an attitude with me again and I will not tolerate it. I have reported her a 2nd time and I have already typed up a withdrawl from school form that will withdraw my son from their facility as soon as possible!!!
