Shepherd's Christian Preschool

Through God’s love, we have built an environment and program specifically designed for the preschool level of early childhood education. After two years of careful design and intense effort we are humbled by this accomplishment. There are very few preschools in the county that can maintain the quality of staff and environment that we insist upon. Our children are our future. “Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they shall not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. We are committed to find opportunity to continue to develop our space and grow in ways that will be innovative and unique.

Preschool education is unique and requires specific skills. We have hired experienced teachers who understand the preschool age mind and thinking in order to develop character and meaningful learning specific to this age group. A loving, nurturing staff modeling the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal 5:16-26). A specifically designed environment and curriculum that reflects current research in the area of early childhood development allows us to deliver the highest quality education.

The early years are an important time to develop the love of learning and positive feelings about school. Through exploration of activities meaningful to the individual child, learning becomes an adventure. When we allow children to choose from a variety of play opportunities while practicing how to make good decisions, they become more independent learners. When we allow children some choice about how long they would like to spend at an activity with respect to the class routine, they learn to manage their time. Play is the vehicle which helps young children internalize attitudes and patterns that make learning a joy.
