| Findings: This licensing specialist observed a 4 month old infant napping in a low swing that was sitting inside a playpen . When asked why, the provider stated that the baby's parents told her to nap him this way so he doesn't throw up. However, she had no documentation from the baby's parents or pediatrician stating this. Provider advised that when sleeping, infants must be placed on their backs until they can roll over unassisted and that they should only sleep in an approved crib or playpen. The only exception to this is if the parents give her a signed note from the child's doctor stating he should sleep in another position or use something other than a crib for napping. Provider also advised infants may not nap in swings, infant bouncers. car seats or on beds. Please correct immediately and submit a doctor's note. This specialist will follow up. | |||
