Description: Santa Margarita Children’s Center first opened its doors in November of 1993. The dream of the center was to provide affordable, accessible, high-quality preschool experiences to children that would foster a child’s complete development. The center is nestled in the Terra Linda Hills and located on a beautiful campus surrounded by trees. A loving and caring team of dedicated teachers who cherish the same dream provide guidance for the program.
Over the 21 years we have grown. Our dream still runs strong. It is evident in the team of staff currently employed at Santa Margarita Children’s Center. Our Center embraces the Code of Ethics of the National Association for the Education of Young Children as our own and continues to provide outstanding preschool experiences to all children. We regard ourselves as a childcare center of exceptional education and care for children.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

Enrolled in October 2023, withdrawing in January 2024. We are withdrawing our kids because of concerns over management and mounting red flags. Instead of simply acknowledging our concerns and trying to end the relationship on a positive tone (because certainly we have had good experiences with the teachers and other families) they are threatening to withhold our deposit because it’s in the contract. Apparently and unfortunately the administrations performance isn’t covered by the contract. Be very cautious. My frustration primarily directed at Arleen and the new office manager Yvonne. Yes Yvonne, parenting is stressful; thanks for acknowledging that. It doesn’t excuse mismanagement at your center. Parents seek out childcare that puts them at ease, not elevates their concerns.
This pre-school and day care is excellent in the Marin County.
They are experienced in this field as they have been teaching kids for the past 20 years. I recommend this school as one of the best for aspiring children as they use the latest methods to teach young children and they are always at their best.
The summer time is even better with field trips, swimming and lot of other programs and activities which makes the children very active and excel in their curriculam. They call ladybugs for younger children less than 3 and sugar bears for elder ones.
