Description: The Rutherford Cooperative Day Nursery (RCDN) is a non-profit, non-sectarian nursery school located in Rutherford, NJ. It is a combined effort of the professional staff and the parents of the children currently enrolled in the school. It encourages emotional and physical independence and provides an awareness of the outside world as it extends from the home and family. Its objective is to provide encouragement in thinking and physical activity by using materials, which stimulate the five senses. State licensed teachers teach all classes with parent helpers (on a rotating basis). An Executive Board of six officers elected by the membership along with the director and teachers governs the school.
