Description: Organized by a group of Rockford women in 1916, the Rockford Day Nursery had been at its previous location since 1921. The original object, according to the State Charter of November 26, 1921, was “to maintain a day nursery to assist women in the care of their children and to use its influence in procuring employment for women.”
Although a new building replaced the original facility in 1951, the purpose had remained basically the same: “to provide day care for young children between the ages of two years and six years, whose parents are employed or in training.”
In August of 1989, we added a new wing and expanded our services to care for children through 12 years of age. Our Before and After School and Summer Day Camp Program is designed to fill the needs of children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
In February of 2005 we relocated to 2323 South 6th Street and were able to further expand our mission to care for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The addition of our infant/toddler program fulfills a dream that has been shared by the founders of this organization and those who followed. To provide quality care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age, whose parents are employed or in training.

Definitely one of the worst daycares Rockford it’s only about 50 kids at the daycare the kids are not being cared for properly the kids don’t get changed until it’s almost time for the parents to come at nap time the kids get covers thrown over there faces so that the employees can just sit on the phone the Director Dee is unprofessional she doesn’t know how to talk to her employees and if you disagree with her she terminates you without giving you a write or any kinda documents she waits days to give documents because she has to make up things and the Assistant Director Ronda is no better she will agree that you but go against you just to be one the Director very unprofessional the Director has her son on the payroll to break down boxes and also has her sons girlfriend on the payroll I’ve seen Dee walk employees out pointless her fingers in employees faces talking to them very disrespectful. A person that shows those kind of actions should not be running a day she has no self control And has and will snap at any point and time Dee has snapped on parents and kids-only black families have been kicked out of the daycare really Ronda has snaked her way into the Assistant Director spot with back stabbing and lies that daycare definitely don’t care about the kids bed bug outbreaks are just some of the issues at RDN, 7 employees in two months have lost their jobs due to Dee unprofessional if you don’t agree with her you getting Terminated it’s time to just shut this daycare down or bring Ms. Rose back
