| Findings: Upon arrival to the home there was a snoring child under age 2, asleep in his car seat. The provider states that he will only sleep in his car seat so his parents request that he is allowed to remain in it for resting. Provider informed when a child in care is not placed in a PNP flat on his back for rest, their airways are not completely open which puts them at a risk of asphyxiation. Sleeping in an upright positon does not allow airways to be completely open. Please note while the child was asleep in the car seat he was snoring which could have also been a indicator of his airways not being completely open. The provider took the child and placed him in the PNP while this specialist was present. Corrected while on site. | |||
