CAUTION DO NOT send your innocent child to this school. Teachers are not what they seem. They spend most of their time yelling loudly to children, so loud that several students are terrified and are seen covering their ears and rocking back and forth to comfort themselves. I watched a teacher's aid nearly elbow a child just because he patted her to try and get her attention. The teachers are obviously not enjoying their job and they take it out on the children. Students do not feel safe and are not learning.

If you are considering Primrose School of South Tampa, be forewarned. You would be wise to look elsewhere. My husband and I were looking to enroll our twins at Primrose School of South Tampa. The school was not open yet, but based on their website and the accolades of its director, Christy Blackard, we chose to send our deposit in sight-unseen. As we recently learned, this was a huge mistake. We were willing to pay extra for preschool and Primrose appeared to have what we both wanted and needed. However, after an actual tour of the school we learned that all this preschool is is fancy trimmings on a substandard preschool. The director who gave us the tour was ill-equipped with knowledge about the classes and program. When asked the ages of the children in each classroom she showed us, she did not know and had to guess. What's worse, is that the school determines whether twins should be in separate classrooms - not the parents. This is absolutely absurd. Additionally, the only training and education required of the teachers is the state mandated 40 hours of training. There are so many other preschools in South Tampa - established preschools - that offer so much more for a lot less money. Needless to say, we have chosen another preschool - one where the teachers are required to be degreed and where the tuition is substantially lower.
