Precious Moments Child Care offers a happy, safe and loving environment for you to leave your children for the day!! I've worked in Child Care for 10 years, working with children is a passion of mine. I am conveniently close to all major roads and bus lines.
My son has been going to Shante since he was 6 weeks old. She effectively communicates is affordable, convenient, and very accommodating. Even after being at home during the pandemic for 18 months my son had no issues transitioning back.
I have toured this provider's facility, but have not used its services
I sent this daycare owner a message on instant messenger to schedule a tour. I toured this "daycare" and I use the term daycare very loosely because it's in the middle of the crime, and drug infested ghetto. Where two men were just shot and killed in broad day light. When I came there I noticed that all the children were confined in something, one in a play pen in the living room by himself, and the other two small children were in the back of the row home in high chairs. Which means not only does she not have her eyes on all the children at all times, but she's keeping them confined so it's less work she has to do. Keeping the children confined stunts their development, and they have trouble meeting developmental milestones because their constantly confined, and no one is engaging with them, which stimulates brain activity. I also noticed the condition of the home, it was very dark, poor lighting, old, unkept, and I couldn't help but wonder did the home have roaches or rodents of some sort because it's a row home in one of the dirtiest parts of West side. She didn't speak about a curriculum, or what she would be teaching my child on a daily basis, she had no lesson plans. While I search for daycares it's very important to me that the daycare focuses on education. She doesn't. She told me that she would have an opening next week for my child to began attending her daycare, and that I should call her in a week. I didn't call because the daycare was below my standards for my daughter. When I didn't call in a week, she then called and left a message and said that my daughter could start. I never returned her call, so she blocked me from Facebook. Lol. Which further proved my point about her character, and the type of ghetto daycare she's running.
Today is the first day my 2 year old started at daycare. Even though we are very new to this when entering precious moments I don't get any bad vibes and Ms shonte seems so nice ????
