Me and my family had an appointment to tour this daycare, and after touring it with the director (Gretchen I believe is her name, because she never introduced herself to us) I can say that we had the worst experience ever. And we're talking about a daycare here, a place where you take your child everyday and you suppose to find someone you trust 100%. I am not sure why and what was it about us that she didn't like, but she made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed there. I felt so guilty about asking questions, that I couldn't stay there more than 15 minutes. After each question asked, the way she responded, made the impression that you already supposed to know the answer. Despite that, I continued to ask her questions about the school and she would answer with only a YES or NO, you know, like when you really want to get rid of someone as fast as you can. I am still really confused and can't explain why would a daycare director treat a family like that. When we entered the daycare building my child saw all the toys there and he tried to play with something and she started shaking and saying that "he's actually not allowed to touch anything in here". My child, then started crying hysterically and she wouldn't even pay attention. She made no contact with him whatsoever. I imagine she doesn't treat everyone like this, because there are still kids that go there and no parents in their right mind will take their kids there if she treated them the way she treated us. Another thing that really surprised me was when she said that in order your kid to get accepted at the daycare, there are 2 interviews he will need to pass, one for a day and the 2nd one for a week. Then I asked her what is the interview about and she started looking in different directions and said "ohhh nothing, just an interview". I saw that she didn't give me a proper answer so I asked her again what is the interview about, for a 2 year old child? She answered the same, "just an interview" so at that point I realized that I'm just losing my time there and I left. On my way out I asked her if they have surveillance cameras and she said NO, but when I got out, by the door was a huge sign saying " Warning, this property is under video surveillance". So yeah, this was mine and my family's experience at Peridot Montessori. Never have I ever imagined experiencing something like this and I hope nobody else will ever have to.
