About the Provider

Description:

The Associated Recreation Council is the 501c3 partner of Seattle Parks and Recreation. Associated Recreation Council provides equitable, dynamic and responsive recreation and lifelong learning programs for every Seattle resident.

During the school year, Northgate Childcare provides before and after school care for multiple schools within the Northeast Seattle district Monday to Friday 7am-9:30am for before school care, then 3pm-6pm for our after school care programs.

We also offer Preschool classes Monday to Friday 9:30am-12:30pm for Children aged 3-5 years old and offer Spanish programs with our Preschool Director, Marcia Medrano.

We operate day camps during school scheduled professional development days, winter/spring break, and summer break. Our break camps operate between the hours of 7am-6pm.

Please call (206) 386-4283 or visit Northgate Community Center for more information on how to enroll for any of our childcare programs.

Northgate Childcare provides care based on the philosophy that children move through stages of development based on their knowledge and experiences. Children's cognitive, physical, and social/emotional learning occurs through their interactions with adults and peers. Our school age programs provide stimulating activities and materials to promote an engaging learning environment for all families and children.

Our staff are trained and participate in the Youth Program Quality Improvement (YPQI/YPQA) process which consists of nationally recognized standards for best practices in before and after school programs. The YPQI measure the quality of child experiences and offers training and assessment tools to ensure the continual quality program improvement.

Our programs benefit from the diverse cultural, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds of our families. We actively support diversity through an anti-bias and multicultural environment for all children.
