New Beginnings Children's Learning Center

I cannot recommend New Beginnings Children’s Learning Center based on my experience with my daughter, who is not yet two years old.

Within approximately nine days, my daughter sustained two separate facial injuries while attending this daycare that staff could not explain. After the first incident, she came home with multiple scratches/marks on her face, including near her eye. I received no notification or incident report, and when I asked staff the following morning, no one could tell me what happened.

On September 10, I arrived for pickup and discovered a bite mark on my daughter’s right cheek that had broken the skin. I had received no call or message informing me that she had been injured. Her teacher told me she had not witnessed the incident and did not know when or how it happened. I took my daughter to the hospital that evening because the bite had broken her skin.

When I met with facility leadership the following morning, they still could not determine exactly when or how the bite occurred.

My concern is not simply that another toddler may have bitten my child. I understand that toddlers bite, hit, scratch, and push and that even attentive teachers cannot prevent every incident. My concern is that my daughter sustained two unexplained facial injuries within approximately nine days, the second one broke her skin, and I was not notified about either injury before discovering them myself.

I ultimately withdrew my daughter from the daycare. I have photographs and documentation of both incidents, as well as the daycare’s accident report and related communications. I have also submitted a formal complaint to Georgia DECAL so the appropriate agency can independently review my concerns.

I’m sharing my experience so other parents have this information when deciding whether this facility is the right choice for their child.
