Montessori Community School

Montessori Scotts Valley first opened its doors for children in September 2003. Inspired by their strong conviction and faith in the Montessori Method, the Tershy family purchased and remodeled the former Christian Life Center campus at 123 South Navarra Drive, in January of 2003. The first Primary classroom, for the Dolphins, was opened in September of the same year. A second Primary classroom, for the Otters, was added in 2004. The first Toddler classroom, for the Puffins, was opened in October 2004. In 2005 we opened our Nido (nest) program for infants from 6 weeks to 18 months.

The Tershys, owners of Montessori Scotts Valley, are three generations of Montessori students, teachers, parents, and administrators working together to create a caring community devoted to the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori. They are honored to invite your participation in this endeavor.

With Montessori trained Guides in our Toddler and Primary classrooms, we offer a full Montessori experience at Montessori Scotts Valley. Our classroom materials and environment respect the children’s individual process of learning, and also reflect the pride the children have in their work.
