We have been with Miss Marcia's since Feb 2013. We have never had any issues at all. I am a nurse and I am extremely thorough and picky, especially on my children's care. We have never had an issue with bottle propping or any issues of neglect. We have been in every room of the daycare since I have two children currently there. They are the most loving and attentive girls. They even babysit for us. We left once for a month in June 2013 because the other daycare was across the street from my work and came crying back because we didn't realize how spoiled we were until we left. I have had nothing but great experiences with Miss Marcia's and Ms Jeanne runs a tight ship and is extremely kind and helpful. It is extremely clean and we haven't had any issues with a lot of sickness either which is not normal for most daycares. They do an amazing job and I honestly recommend them to everyone!
After sending my son (7 months old) here for a month I started noticing his teacher being very rude with me. Instructing me to "make him hold his bottle" because she can't hold his bottle and feed him because she had other babies to take care of. Shocked & appalled I put in a phone call to the director the next day to discuss this and she took up for the teacher, saying, "maybe she was having a bad day" I asked the director what the DHR rules were for holding a baby while giving a bottle and she said she didn't know, she would find out. She then told me that sometimes they lay the babies down and "prop up their bottles" when they have multiple babies to feed at once. I had this conversation on speakerphone in front of multiple people so she could not lie about saying it. I had previously checked with another DHR liscensed school that informed me the rule was, they HAVE to hold the babies while feeding them. The sad part is, this place is DHR liscensed. Before hanging up informed her we were putting in our two week notice and would start looking for another center. The director, Jeanne apologized and wanted us to think about it but I continued telling her no, we would be gone in two weeks. They are breaking DHR rules. Another thing that I continued to notice was, after entering the building in the morning I would walk by a classroom with a teacher standing back in a corner on her cell phone while "crawlers" were roaming the floors and a couple of times were stuck under the cribs that sat low to the ground. They give an appearance of the daycare being very nice and all about the children but are not. Also, after the incident we decided to leave for another center because I was not comfortable there after them breaking DHR rules, (The director never got back with me with an answer btw) the director called me and told me we owed for the two weeks. I told her no, we only owe for one because I gave a two week notice to the director Jeanne. The owner informed me that the director told her I never did. Now she is suing us for the week that I refuse to pay for because the director is lying about our phone conversation. If you're looking for a DHR liscensed daycare please keep looking. You pay 210+ a week and they provide diapers and wipes but everytime I picked my son up his diaper was soaked. I would have to change his diaper and outfit or pants in the car before we could leave. I would suggest Trinity CDC, they are much more budget friendly and the service and teachers were 200% better. Plus they have cameras so you can watch your little one all day!
