Miss Amy’s LLC is a Reggio-Emilia inspired, VA Star Quality four-star rated preschool for children twenty-two months to seven years of age. Miss Amy's was founded in 1992 in the heart of historic Abingdon, Virginia. Our fully licensed center engages children in play-based learning, as we believe our community is also our classroom and our teacher. The teachers here at Miss Amy's have more than seventy-five years of combined training and experience in teaching children.

Our teachers are the heart of our school. Our actions are guided by kindness, caring, and a deep understanding of what early childhood education involves.
We experience very low staff turnover as we know how important consistency is in the lives of young children. Our teachers have over seventy-five years of combined experience working with young children. All of our teachers attend at least thirty hours per year in professional development training because teachers are lifelong learners. Our pre-K teacher is a licensed teacher in the state of Virginia with certification in Pre-K through sixth grade.
We are committed to the Reggio style of teaching. Our director, Amy Bowie has attended an International Study Tour in Reggio Emilia Italy and stays connected to the constructiveness curriculum that is the Reggio Style through professional organizations and connections to other Reggio schools.

We absolutely love Miss Amy's! Our little one (2, almost 3) has been so happy here. The teachers are kind and caring and I don't worry at all about the care he receives. I love the outdoor time they spend playing in the sandbox, growing the garden or playing with Miss Tilli (the school's chicken). Our son looks forward to yoga every other week and music every week as well as Friday water play days in the summer. I can't recommend Miss Amy's enough. Great first experience with childcare for our family.
I am a mother of three and they have all been to Miss Amys child care and I would not have it anyother way. All of the staff is wonderful and Miss Amy is more that a teacher she is a angel sent from above with more patients than I could ever hope for. I will always be thankful for her.
