About the Provider
In 1992, the community decided to provide a unique, intensive and non traditional family oriented and holistic approach to case management services (family support system) to help youth that were confronting difficulties with the Juvenile Justice system. Over time this program has grown into the family support services, adult education, earned income tax credit services, summer youth camp and after school programs, which currently take place at Mi Casa’s 24,000 square foot three story building located on 590 Park Street.
Since its founding, 7,500 youth, 7,800 families and more than 30,000 “walk-ins” have come to Mi Casa seeking help. In the past year, over 800 individuals came seeking assistance with tax return preparations in connection with the earned income tax credit outreach program conducted in partnership with Co-Opportunity, Inc. On an average day, 20-25 adults come to Mi Casa seeking services ranging from assistance in obtaining a birth certificate to help with housing. Last year, Mi Casa’s youth programs helped over 300 young adults through after school and summer programs.
