Description: Welcome to the Mary Jo Small Child Care Center at Brookland Woods. We are located in Iowa City, Iowa, on the University of Iowa campus. Our philosophy is that children learn through play. Our program encourages and stimulates the many aspects of childhood development through open-ended, child-centered play and activities. These include, but are not limited to, reading, natural science, blocks, cars and trucks, building materials, dress up, imagination, art, creativity, games, puzzles, music, and movement. We have six program rooms, each designed around a simple play theme, in a well maintained, two-story, wood frame house built in 1910.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues.
