Description: MCCA is a community of friends where the values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility are nurtured. Our program is designed to enrich and compliment each child's school day experience. We strive to create a fun and safe environment which supports the individual needs and development of children. Program components and curriculum are framed by both the National AfterSchool Association (NAA) Standards for Quality School-Age Programs and the Oregon ASK Afterschool Program Quality Standards.
MCCA is conveniently located at Markham Elementary School. MCCA was chartered as a nonprofit member association in 1991, and parents/guardians of children attending MCCA are members of our association. Parent participation is encouraged and considered a valuable asset to our program.
MCCA is licensed by the Oregon Child Care Division and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. MCCA staff have passed criminal background checks and are certified in first aid/CPR and Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect. Program staff complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development training annually and are also enrolled in the Oregon Registry, a voluntary statewide professional development system.
