Malibu Methodist Church Nursery School

Malibu Methodist Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian community outreach of the Malibu United Methodist Church. The school's philosophy of education and caring for young children is well known throughout Malibu and beyond. The centerpiece of this philosophy is the principle that children learn in an environment that is rich in "hands-on" explorations, with staff guidance that is supportive and that encourages risk taking, reflection, problem-solving and individuality. Their curriculum flows from the children's needs and interests rather than the one imposed upon them because the school believes that a structured and formal learning introduced too early does not prepare children for a creative and rapidly changing world, nor does it provide a solid conceptual foundation for future academic experiences.
