Multiple licensing regulations not followed during my children time there; teacher child ratios always off, only one or two English speaking teachers at any given time, mixing of the age groups. Meals conssted of cheese and pasta OR bread. No protein, veggies or fruit. I took food multiple times for them. There was no director onsite 95% of the time. The children have no real activities outside of coloring. I even went as far as to take activities to the center during the summer for all the children. All I these issues were discussed with the owner. some changes were made but things went back very quickly. The final straw was when my school age children where left outside with the 3 and 4 year olds ALONE... no teacher in sight. The little one's got out of the gate and where in the parking lot. it's important to mention the parking lot has open access to a pond/lake that sits directly next to the center. My 11 year old was out in the parking lot trying to get the little ones to come back in! I did call licensing and immediately withdrew my kids. If you love your kids at all do not send them here!!
My daughter found this and put her 2 sons there when they were 2 and 4. the youngest one just left day care because now he is 5 and going to school. I have to say as a Grandmother, I loved these people and I loved this place. They are a family run business and they act like a loving family. They are very helpful and caring and I hope they continue to prosper. They also are very astute in checking ID's of those who come to pick up the children. That is not only amazing but very comforting to know.
Pros- No registration fees. Low weekly tuition. Clean facility. Cons- Opened up late multiple times every week. They claim hours are from 6am-630pm however the two staff members that are scheduled to open up the facility ride together and always seemed to be 10-20 minutes late every other day. - There was one instance when the female owner called me at 5:45pm to ask me when I was going to come pick up my child because he was the last one there. I work close to downtown Houston and the knew this before I registered my child so I thought by calling me to ask me this was very unprofessional. -Inconsiderate staff: One day when I walked in the pre-k room to pick up my child the television was blasting and when I saw my child he was actually holding onto his ears due to it being so loud. The staff member working in the room at the time was looking out into space like she didn't even notice that the tv was uncomfortably loud for the children in the room. When I told the owner about this she basically shook her head and laughed it off. -Also the female owner informed my husband that her son was able to be potty trained at the age of 2. Our child is 3 and is working on potty training and his pediatrician said this was a very unprofessional statement to make to a parent as each child potty trains differently. -After my child was there for a couple of months the owner approached me saying that my child caused 3 of her customers (who were siblings) to leave the daycare due to my child's behavior. When my husband and I asked for documentation of his behavior and incidents in general we were told there were no documents. We even requested a letter of release explaining the reason(s) why our child was being released but we have yet to receive this. It just seems that if your child is active and anything but a robot, they will only take care of them for so long.
The provider is great. I can see a difference with my daughter from when she first started goin here than now, she has learned a lot. I would recommend other families to bring their children here. Great place!
I am a very busy mom who has a very busy schedule. I been blessed with two amazing kids. My son is 11 years old and my daughter is 4 years old. I first found out about little rock star from a friend, she told me to try it out. As a concerned parent at first I was very skeptic of the day are especially since at the time it had newly opened up. I enrolled my kids in the daycare to give it a try, and ended up very satisfied! My son has ADHD, it's hard for him to focus and complete his homework, but at the day care they help him with his homework and make it a fun experience, fun enough that he loves going there and his homework grades have even gone up! Everyone at the day care is very kind and will treat you like family. My little loves the daycare as well, the kids play and get educated read books! It's a very friendly environment and a very clean one at that! I have recommended this daycare to my friends and co-workers this day care defiantly lives up to its name!
We have 2 kids (4 year old and 2 year old) in Little Rockstar Daycare right now and are super happy with how they are well cared for and how they are developing new skills. It feels like we are leaving them with family every morning.
The daycare is very professional and they learn so much there. One thing I really like is that ALL the kids are very well behaved and ALL the parents are very friendly and involved (attending kids birthday parties outside of the daycare, annual picnics, cultural potluck day, multiple field trips each year etc...).
I have never once seen the kids out of control, running around, and making lot's of noise (seen this so many times at other daycare places). The management and staff both maintain a great balance of fun, learning, and discipline.
I can't say enough great things about LRD....
nice and keep it up good work
My experience at Little Rock Star Daycare has been nothing but exceptional. My son and daughter have been attending this daycare for 3 years now and I am very grateful to the staff, especially Ms. Lucy (Infant Teacher) who is the sweetest, most hard working person there. My children get the attention they deserve on a daily basis and surprise me everyday with what they've learned at the daycare. The management staff is beyond friendly and will always go out of the way for the children's well being. Most importantly, they are straight-forward in their assessment of the child's needs. If my child was mis-behaving, then I would get a detailed report on what behavior traits need to be improved. On the other hand, the management staff also quick to let us know how great my children behaved as well. It's also reasonably priced compared to most daycares in the area, and definitely gives my husband and I the opportunity to spend our money on other expenses.
What I like most about this daycare is that the building is away from any commercial areas so my children have a safe, quiet experience while we're at work. The view of the lake is beautiful and we always feed the ducks before going home. Overall, truly love this cute little daycare.
My kids were treaded so badly in this day care. The admin has no sense to operate nor manage this day care.
