About the Provider
Dr. Maria Montessori was the first woman to be granted a medical degree in Italy and is the founder of a teaching philosophy that inspired sweeping reforms in modern education. Her approach to education developed from detailed observations of children's “almost effortless ability to absorb knowledge from their surrounding as well as their tireless interest in manipulating material.†Our mission is to provide a program based on the educational philosophy of Dr. Montessori, in which the child establishes a firm foundation for a lifetime of creative and purposeful learning. In addition to academics, a Montessori education provides a desire to learn, decision making and problem solving skills, an understanding of time management, self-discipline and life-long lessons in friendship and courtesy.
