During the investigation, it was confirmed that Staff #1 held a child by their chin, thereby restricting the child's movement. This action took place in a public setting, in front of a large group of children, under the pretext of discipline. These actions directly contradicted our facility's policy, which explicitly prohibits any form of physical punishment, including the use of corporal discipline. In light of these serious violations, we took immediate and decisive corrective actions. After conducting a thorough internal investigation and speaking with our certification representative it was evident that staff #1 behavior constituted a gross breach of our established policies and procedures. Consequently, we made the difficult but necessary decision to terminate Staff #1 from thier position at Little People Daycare. This termination came into effect on August 9th, 2023.
