Description: Little Dudes Learning Center opened in 1961 when Mrs. Ellen Smith realized the need for childcare in South Austin. Although it was still primarily undeveloped, South Austin was growing. The IRS had just opened their Austin facility. Little Dudes Learning Center was the first childcare center to open in Austin, south of the river. Following the opening of the first center on Sandra Street, an after school care and summer camp was introduced at the Crow campus, in 1972. An additional Maufrais center opened in 1980. We are proud of maintaining the longest lasting, accredited learning center in Austin.

I wanted to reach out and share my experience with other parents looking for a safe and loving location to have their children experience while they work. We started here when my son was about 19 months old and now his is 26 months and loves our choice. The price saved our life with the Austin expenses but the staff and support by everyone from the director, teachers, chef, to other parents is outstanding. They are very invested in what they do and are a wonderful location for any child to spend their day in. There are gardens, healthy food, parties, arts and craft, music, stories, and so much more. If you are in search of somewhere that gives your child a homes away from home, and practice with other children I suggest stopping by and saying hello!
