I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I want to give them a 5-star review because they really are nice people and do a great job caring for kids. The reason I give them a one-star review as because after having my two special needs children for not even a full month oh, they kicked my five-year-old out for behaviors that are consistent with his developmental age of two. They stated that they had spoken to me about behaviors over the course of the month and were unable to find any resolution. I had nothing in writing prior to the day he was asked to not come back. Even then it was a phone call that I had to make to them to clarify that they were in fact kicking him out. I only made this phone call because my husband overheard some children in the classroom saying that my child would not be coming back. Nobody was up front and forward with me about this situation. I tried to resolve it with them via email, but it was too late at that point. Lexie was my son's teacher, and she was wonderful. However, I was told that she was in tears at the end of the day because of my five year old' behavior. It seems odd to me that they wouldn't have provided her with more support or additional staff if it was truly that bad. The behaviors in question included throwing toys, dumping buckets of toys, occasionally hitting friends, and getting out of the classroom and running down the hallway. While I certainly do not want my child to hurt or harm anyone else oh, I do feel like the situation could have been resolved with something other than removal. I truly believe they just did not want to deal with him. I think they expected him to be a typical five-year-old because that's how old he is, but I let them know before he enrolled that he was developmentally about 2 years old. I feel like most of the behaviors are consistent with that of a two year old, which is why I did not feel removal was a fair option. If you have typical children who have absolutely no behavior problems, then this is a great day care for you. But if you need one-to-one attention or care for your children, this is not the day care for you. I asked them up front if they took special needs children and could handle a child with special needs, and I was told yes. I feel like once they spent a few weeks with my child and realized how much work it was, they no longer wanted to do it.
