This daycare was my last option when I moved here two years ago, unfortunately all others were full. I was hesitant but the director being a pastor eased my hesitation. The daycare is extremely small, not much room for children to play and interact. When I started they had long lesson plans for the young toddlers, they lost attention due to length. My son is very energetic and was going through a lot of changes in life, he needed some extra support. My son would come home with scratches, bruises etc and told me one of the staff did it. I constantly received bad reports for my son, making it out that he was the only child acting out. The kids are expected to nap and if they don't want to have to sit on the cot and be quiet, I don't think any toddler would do that for very long.I called to speak to someone regarding the claim that someone was hitting him and expressed concerns about the change in his life and a specialist was sent to the daycare. She gave ideas for lessons and rearranging the room for the kids. She put together a plan for my son and he started having better behavior. He's five and exploring boundaries, etc. It was his second day there for the week and I got a message at work at 10am that he wouldn't stop pinching the girls butts (there were only girls in his room besides one boy sometimes) two hours later 12pm (he's napping) I got a message saying he was no longer able to return because they can't have that happening to their girls. The way it worded was sexualizing a five year olds actions. They stated he was doing it the previous day also but when I picked him up the previous day, she stated he had a good day! I called expressing my frustrations with receiving a message instead of a call or face to face talk, I let her know that I have been working on boundaries with him, he has been raised by me and just met his dad when moving here. He's been in the daycare for 2+ years! She said she tried everything that the specialist recommended and nothing worked. When the plan for him was made and utilized, it took time for it to show some results, not two hours! I stated that she should not make this about his behaviors because they have praised him over and over for the improvement, this is out of nowhere, no warning and unexpected. I am a single working mom, in a small town with the daycares being full!
They yell at the kids and awful lot. My father picked him up numerous times and told me how nasty the older woman was to him and my son! My son had a black eye for over a week it's just now going away. The little girls would kiss and hug my son and received no reprimand, yet him being silly in his way was ground to kick him instead of having patience and understanding.
I don't recommend this daycare for young children, the director and staff are pretty impatient and unprofessional.
We were hesitant about day care for our 4 month old son but after we met missy (director) we felt very comfortable leaving our son here! They get very excited to see us each morning and we couldn’t have picked a better day care!!!
