Leonard School

Welcome to Leonard Elementary School, where kids are the heart of our learning community.

Situated in the center of the city of Troy, Michigan, the staff, parents and community are proud of the school’s many accomplishments. In addition to being a fully accredited Blue Ribbon School, Leonard has received the Michigan Department of Education’s prestigious Golden Apple Award acquired through exemplary M.E.A.P. scores. Leonard is also fully accredited by North Central Association of Colleges (N.C.A.), assuring that high educational standards are being met daily. We are dedicated to creating a learning environment where each of our students will develop academically, emotionally and socially.

Our diverse population receives stimulating classroom instruction that is supported by many additional services. Programs include: Developmental Kindergarten, a half day Kindergarten program to prepare students for the full day Kindergarten program the following year and C.A.R.E. Company which provides families a childcare opportunity for children before and after school. The multifaceted needs of our children are met daily through creative classroom teaching strategies, and special education programs. Students needing additional English support can become part of our English as the Second Language (E.S.L.) program. First graders needing assistance with developing additional reading skills can take part in our highly successful Reading Recovery program. Offering a myriad of support services, Leonard Elementary School focuses on the achievement of every child.
