About the Provider

Learning Years has been a locally owned Preschool in Washington County since 1973.  Our schools were founded and operated by Bob and Lis Richardson who believed in providing a safe, loving, and educational environment for children of working families in our community.  Their daughter Amy was a student at the school and later had her first job there.

In 1998 the schools were purchased by daughter Amy Kight and Lis's sister Tina McDaniel, each of whom had spent many years learning about and working in all functional and operational levels of the schools.  The integrity and deep roots in the philosophy of providing each child with the very best in care and early childhood education was thereby assured.

Together with a holistic approach to early childhood education, our creative environment and nurturing teachers provide enriching experiences that stimulate children’s senses and spark their curiosity to promote a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

Additional Information:

Tucked into this small community this location has a hometown feel.  We have many families that both work and live just around the corner so you will often see families commuting by foot or by bike.  With this being our smallest center it just feels like an extension of home.  Our families enjoy the benefits of being a part of a community while at the same time providing their child the opportunity to benefit from the experience of our teaching team.  Our teachers work hard to provide their students with both the academics needed in an early childhood program as well as the space to be creative, grow, and play.
