First, I have not toured the facility, this all happened over the phone after we attempted to put my daughter on a wait list. There was no option for my situation.
With that said, I have never seen so much unprofessionalism in one place in my entire life. My daughter was set to be put on a wait list for this location. My mother in law took her up there along with our registration fee, first week’s payment, and our paperwork. She was told that we had to have some additional documents before they could put her on the wait list, specifically her birth certificate (which we had to order a new one) and a copy of our driver’s licenses. Okay, I completely understand needing these documents for her to attend the school, but to put her on the wait list? I called and spoke to a woman who apparently felt like I was rude to her for asking why she couldn’t get put on a wait list since it would take at least a week to get her BC back from the records. There was no arguing, there was no raising of my voice, there was only frustration for lack of understanding why this is the way it was. But, I told her I would get her the documents as soon as possible.
Fast forward about 30 mins, and I get a call from a man who refused to identify himself, he only said that we were not going to be allowed to bring our daughter there because they “don’t make it a habit of arguing with their parents about policy”. When I asked if he had the right parent, he asked my name and I told him, to which he said that he had the right person. When I said I didn’t understand, he told me he wasn’t going to argue with me (just like in the first call, I wasn’t arguing) and hung up. When I called back to try to understand, he started saying things like “Are you just that guy that can’t handle rejection who doesn’t take no for an answer?” It was incredibly unprofessional. Once again, I asked who he was and what his affiliation with the preschool was in hopes I could take this to someone above, but he said it didn’t matter who he was or his affiliation. He only said we needed to start looking for another daycare. When I continued to try and explain the situation, he told me he was going to hang up on me again, to which I said I would just come down there and talk to him. But at this point, it isn’t worth it. Even if this man was disciplined accordingly, I would NEVER take my child to this place.
And now while writing this review, the man called the sheriff’s office and said I said I would come down there to “straighten things out” and that it was “concerning” and asked to have a deputy present. This is truly unbelievable. I’ll definitely be looking for other ways to file complaints. Highly recommend looking elsewhere, and I’ve never even set foot in the building.
My kids started in May 2014 and it was a rough transition at first because they loved where they were. In time, they both became comfortable and fell in love. The teachers and the owner were so accommodating, patient with me and very loving during the cries good-bye. Those are the little things I observe but mean so much to me as a parent. I can go to work without an uneasy feeling in my stomach regarding where my kids are. I love this daycare, the well-seasoned teachers and even the young ones who always have a smile on their faces.
