I would not recommend this from a employee pov. The owner does not provide adequate training and refuses to keep consistent teachers. Most of the teachers quit because the owner only cares about the money.
We are not allowed to report any issues to parents only good things and it concerns me on what they eat, do all day. Read the employee reviews on indeed.
We had high hopes for this day care based on their advertising on how they wanted to run the center. They couldn't deliver on their own goals. The staff turn over is horrible. The rooms are filthy and so were the children at the end of the day. The situation in the rooms is pure chaos. The children are screaming and crying all day. There is very little directed activity and plenty of opportunity for self play. TV is on all the time and toys will be covered so they can't be played with when the children should be watching TV. The injuries our children sustained got to the point where we we realized the adults (some barely out of their teens if at all) could not handle the environment. We knew they couldn't provide a safe environment for our children or the others around them. We chose to leave and it was the best decision we made. The director is very unprofessional as I heard her speaking openly about other children and their home life issues. She also takes it upon herself to assess and diagnose children for learning and social problems. She has no childcare or mental health experience. The owner was completely vacant to our concerns. I would not recommend.
Although the facility itself has the space and environment to be successful Discovery Zone Kids is NOT a quality early childhood source. I had my twin sons enrolled for around 6 months so got a good feel for the level of care they provided. There were no consistent teachers in the classrooms leaving the children without the ability to maintain continuity with authority. The rooms were cluttered and messy and a lot of TV time was used in lack of proper supervision. The caregivers were under-qualified for the work they should have been performing leaving the classes and children with too much self-directed activities leading to injuries. My children had a speech delay at the time and the administration reported "not being able to handle" their situation. At one time the director suggested that if we had an Autism diagnosis maybe we could get a shadow to follow our children around while in their care. Absolutely insane! There were more than a few serious injuries while we were enrolled and at that point with no help from the administration we decided to take them out of this dangerous, non-constructive facility.
