I will start by saying the school itself is absolutely gorgeous! When you walk in you really are impressed and think this is it! My son came over for summer camp to be with some friends after attending another school in the local area for five years. I deeply regret moving him. After the first week I could not believe how disappointing this school turned out to be. While we really like the teachers in his room (the Veterans class – Ms. Litrelle and Ms. Janet) the overall management of the school was horrendous. The field trips were very poorly planned, the communication to the parents was outrageous even to the point where we would find out that the kids we out on field trips that the parents were unaware of and did not authorize. Half way through summer, the corporate team got rid of the school Director and brought on a new Director named Veronica who is showing mass improvements in the school. She improved the field trip schedule to more local trips and not constantly sending the kids to Miami, kept the parents informed and really is starting to show the parents she is trying to make a difference. However, there is still one major problem in that school, there is a teacher who is slated to be a VPK teacher, Ms. Alex who is unfit to be in a school. She is a bully to the students but will put a smile on her face when she sees you. She talks about parents in front of the kids, and the kids will come home and tell you Ms. Alex was talking about you. She does not report incidents only to find out about things from your children when they get home at night. She has been reported to corporate numerous times and yet the school keeps her on where she should not there. In the middle of the summer, she was either fired or quit went to another school and then came back. When your 5 year old tells you, she is not nice when other teachers are there, but when she is alone with us she yells at everyone, there is a problem. Ladybird corporate does nothing to intervene and this is a problem for anyone looking to place their child in a good environment. If this person was not in this school, along with the new Director’s improvements this school may have a chance to thrive. Since Alex is still there my son or daughter will never step foot back in that school. Do you research and check other schools, there are better options!
