Description: It is our belief that children learn through experience and play. Life skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, cooperation, and many others, can be learned through play. "Play is the work of children." Children should be provided with a wide array of age appropriate choices to master these skills without judgment of success or failure. This affords the individual child the opportunity to experiment with many roles to see what feels right for them. By creating a safe, fun, and caring child centered environment conducive to playful learning, children enjoy greater self-esteem and develop their intellectual , social, physical, and emotional abilities.

I have been using Kids of Miller Place for 6 years now between all 3 of my children, and my wife and I could not be more pleased. My children come home everyday telling stories of the fantastic activities and interactions they had with their teachers and peers. I am always informed of what is going on, everyone is friendly, and with Covid, they have gone above and beyond to put us at ease sending our children. They are very clean, friendly, and it feels like "home" to use.
Within the first 6 days of the 2012-13 school year, my wife and I were informed by the Kid's Quest kindergarten teacher that our son was constantly next to her, made excessive requests to use the bathroom, required too much one to one attention, and that the school did not have the resources or staff to handle our son. Our son (who has developmental dyspraxia) will be pulled out at the end of the week at our request as we are no longer comfortable that he will be adequately cared for in this environment. I cannot speak to their competence in dealing with regular education students, I simply believe they have demonstrated that they are not willing or able to care for students moving through a special education track.
