About the Provider

Description: Our Philosophy
Kid's Kollege, is a Christian based school in Chesapeake, Virginia, is a child care center providing a happy, loving, learning environment where children learn to develop a wholesome self-image and grow physically, intellectually, and socially.

Program Goals
We believe that when children explore, question, listen, build, paint, play, and sing they develop readiness for school and other life experiences. Our goal is to ensure these early life experiences have a profound, life-long influence on each child’s potential.
Our program goals were developed to enable children to become independent and learn to make decisions, do things for themselves, and to begin to think of themselves as independent, competent individuals.

Positive Interactions
Our goals are accomplished through children learning to interact positively with others in a way that brings about positive responses, so they can build satisfying relationships with adults and peers. Children also learn to develop self-control to become self-disciplined, self-guided, and self-directed towards appropriate behavior.

Understand & Develop
We teach children to understand and control their physical world by encouraging curiosity, thinking, reasoning, problem solving, and gathering and using information. This also helps them develop a positive self-image, so they view themselves as successful, likeable, and competent individuals.

Our Goals in Practice
We feel it is very important to be able to communicate closely with the parents of our children. Through close communication, we can have a better understanding of each child’s needs on an ongoing basis.

The Fry Family Dec 13, 2015
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I love Kid's Kollege and would recommend them to everyone. It did not feel like a Child Care Center instead it felt like an extension of my family.

My daughter started when she was three years old and stayed until she was 11 (entering the sixth grade). The teachers and director(Mrs. Ashley) were wonderful. They truly put my daughter's needs first. I would like to take all the credit for the person my daughter is today but I know she wouldn't be the person she is today without the structure, love and support of the Kid's Kollege family.

I love and will miss them tremendously as we move onto the next phase. Thank you to the staff of Kid's Kollege.

Pleased Kid's Kollege Client Feb 26, 2015

The staff at Kid's Kollege is top notch. The facility is not fancy, however very functional and we couldn't be happier with all staff employees. We have 3 children enrolled; each in a different age division of their program. Our grade school son loves Ms. Arla, our middle child is very fond of all of his preschool staff, and our 2 year old son has adjusted so well to the schedule and environment of the school: far beyond my expectations. The security is tight at this facility as one needs a code to enter and there is a sign in policy in place. The food is well balanced, and many times when I come in to drop off my children, the place smells delicious, bringing me thoughts of a warm home.

The only improvements I would like to see is the development of structured schedules for grade school attendees during government holidays. They watch grade school-children during this time (even one Christmas Eve!) but their structure is pretty basic. However, I think this is due to lack of funding because the school charges a charitable economical price considerably under other centers in the same market.

Moreover, the founder; Laura Ashley, is an incredibly generous person. She is always willing to help with school payment plans and is there until 6:00 or after. There have been a few times that I was unable to arrive for pick up until after 6, as my schedule is a late one and the staff was there without judgement. Although those statements are not a waiver to abuse the staff's time; it simply reflects their perceptive approach and sacrifice to care of my children.

I would recommend this school to anyone. I am glad to utilize their competent services and hope that their return comes back to them 10-fold.
